Space SHMUP - Part 2 - ReadMe File

0. What is the link to your project on itch.io?

1. What are the controls to your game? How do we play?
-WASD to strafe the ship around in the appropriate directions.
-Space to shoot.
2. What creative additions did you make? How can we find them?
-Rotated the entire game 90 degrees to turn it into a sidescroller (player movement adjusted to make moving feel natural).
-Replaced all assets with hand-traced vector art (made in Figma).
-Added a title logo & starting screen.
-Graphical enhancements including global bloom and trails for some enemies (a tiny bit of code was needed to preserve the trails as they went offscreen).
-Added music and sound FX from a past hobby project, GALACDRIVE (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/galacdrive/id6449262666).
3. Any assets used that you didn't create yourself?
The music was made for an old hobby project named GALACDRIVE - it is a project owned by me, but the sounds & music made for it were made by team members Logan Kinoshita & Yatas.
4. Did you receive help from anyone outside this class or from anyone in this class that is not in a group with you?
I mentioned my frustration at one point, trying to solve a problem, to Paul Poorman, but I ended up solving the problem by myself a moment later.
5. Did you get help from any AI Code Assistants?
None.
6. Did you get help from any online websites, videos, or tutorials?

7. What trouble did you have with this project?
There was a StackOverflowException error in relation to the powerup script. I had to trace the problem and tape on a fix, but it took a lot of trial and error, as well as hair pulling to get there..
8. Is there anything else we should know?
Evidently with the time of submission, I had trouble cobbling together the time for this project. I've also noticed that the tutorial videos are just not that fun to go through - I work on my own projects in a different engine (Flowlab) and even there, I dislike tutorials. They fill me with about a tenth of the joy I get from making the project modifications (but that's by my nature, not Jeremy Bond's fault). I guess I just wish we could do more of the fun modification stuff somehow.
